  • Overview

    The Asset Manager, reporting to the Director of Asset Management supports Sunrun's Project Finance department. In your role, you will lead relationship management for multiple established Tax Equity and Debt investors, reporting on residential solar assets and driving operational efficiency to meet contractual requirements and relationship agreements.   As a leader in the Asset Management team, you will have the opportunity to use your excellent business and analytical skills to support business transformative decisions, drive company success and mentor team members.


    The Asset Manager will become a subject matter expert on numerous business processes across the lifecycle of our solar assets in order to effectively synthesize key operational and financial data for external reporting and support financing of new markets and product offerings. The Asset Manager will be the team’s internal face, working collaboratively with various groups across the company to identify and implement technical solutions and process improvements to influence workflows that benefit Sunrun's fund investors.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage all aspects of key Tax Equity and Debt investor relationships including reporting deliverables, proactive portfolio analysis, and ongoing investor due diligence requests
    • Review legal documents and contracts and operationalize contract terms and reporting requirements
    • Be the voice of the investor. Collaborate with colleagues in various functional areas of the company to meet operational and reporting requirements of new transactions and products
    • Lead the Asset Management side of the quarterly dividend process, analyzing accounting and billing data from business reporting systems and ensure accurate payment to investors
    • Assist with ongoing structuring and execution of project finance and corporate transactions
    • Mentor and coach Asset Management analysts and associates on work product and best practices
    • Utilize project management best practices tools to track delivery and compliance of required reports to external parties
    • Synthesize and translate internal messages from groups including Customer Care, Tax, and Operations into external messages for investors
    • Engage with groups across the company to operationalize and champion data management

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree from top-tier university
    • Minimum of 6-8 years of related industry experience with 2-3 years in a manager role
    • Knowledge of and experience working across teams, specifically Accounting, Billing, IT, SOX, Legal and Operations
    • Effective, results-oriented leader, able to manage multiple issues and stakeholders and clearly articulate principles, concerns, and implement solutions
    • Patient manager and mentor, able to communicate feedback and help others reach their goals
    • Detail oriented with the ability to pick up and retain a wide breadth of knowledge
    • Strong work ethic and ability to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced work environment
    • Acute awareness & ability to manage to external deadlines
    • Highly organized, self-directed and process oriented
    • Familiarity with general accounting principles
    • Effective communicator and collaborator across multiple levels/functions
    • Superior knowledge of MS Excel, Word
    • Experience in Salesforce, Oracle ERP and business reporting and analytics tools

     

    Additional desired skills (not required):

    • Experience with complex legal entity organizations or a leasing business model
    • Solar industry knowledge
