  • Overview

The Strategic Finance & Analytics team is responsible for improving strategic and financial decision-making across Sunrun. We serve as a trusted adviser to the business to help inform and guide decision making through business partner support and insightful analyses. We are shoulder to shoulder and drive to outcomes with our business partners. We are looking for bright, goal-oriented individuals who will succeed in a fast-paced environment and thrive in building and improving processes that will allow the company to scale. The SF&A team believes in scaling via software (we use Anaplan), not headcount. We have built a planning system and process where every function in the organization plans together in real-time on a monthly basis, so there is less time spent exporting data & more emphasis on focusing on what matters. This leads to more opportunities for each member of the team at a company that generates >$1.5B in proceeds and has >200K customers that is fundamentally changing the energy landscape, growing >20% yoy.

The opportunity in this role is to learn, and lead business partner support of, multiple SVPs and VPs at a company of scale that would typically require working at SEVERAL different companies. The Manager will act as the right hand to business partners across the Operations and Supply Chain organizations of Sunrun. More specifically, Sunrun has a Customer Operations team that handles all operations post-sale but pre-install of a solar system on customer homes. Our Install Operations team, spread across multiple branches in >20 states executes those installs in a timely, customer-centric manner. Our Supply Chain team ensures our procurement of the materials necessary for those customers. Our subsidiaries, AEE (solar equipment distributor) and SnapNRack (racking manufacturer) sell solar equipment across a diverse set of customers in the solar industry. You will be the right hand CFO to multiple of these leaders.

    Who we are:

If change means solving one of the biggest challenges of our time by reinventing the way people power their homes, then we say bring it on. It doesn’t hurt that we’re reducing carbon emissions, adding new jobs to the economy, and having fun while doing it. In 2007, Sunrun co-Founders Ed Fenster and Lynn Jurich set out to make home solar mainstream. Upfront cost was a huge barrier to home solar adoption, so they invented the model now known as "Solar as a Service."   Sunrun allows homeowners to pay for solar power, not the panels. This means Sunrun owns, maintains, and monitors the system while homeowners pay for the electricity it produces. Each business day, we install $2 million worth of solar and facilitate one solar installation every 10 minutes. Our network of more than 30 leading solar installers employs more than 3,000 people.

For Sunrunners in SF&A, we offer competitive compensation (cash + equity), 401K match, tuition reimbursement, unlimited PTO, and the opportunity to have an impact at a company changing the way we create and consume energy.

    Responsibilities

    • Own the monthly forecast process for multiple organizations within Sunrun – we aim for less than 5% variance of our forecasts vs. actuals (tracking ~2%)
    • Synthesize the story for what is occurring in those organizations and influence change
    • Summarize synthesis in monthly/quarterly reviews with business partners and VP SF&A, CFO & COO
    • Earn the trust and respect of key VPs/SVPs/CXOs in the role of a mini CFO, resulting in strategic projects and advisory opportunities
    • Quickly evolve to influencing those same leaders w/ optimizations needed to move the business forward
