The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for supporting the development and ongoing performance of a robust, highly effective quality management system for the broader Design Engineering organization. The position will work cross-functionally to develop training programs, modify business processes, and implement technology projects that will drive quality improvements for customers and employees. The Quality Assurance Specialist must be able to able to thrive in a high growth environment, fast paced industry, and be comfortable working with changing priorities.
Support a quality management system (QMS) to enable world class quality performance across the Design Engineering organization utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, ISO 9000 or other quality management system philosophies.
Organize and perform root cause analysis studies including: problem definition, data gathering and analysis, root cause identification, corrective action identification, preventative solutioning, resolution implementation and success monitoring.
Create effective feedback mechanisms that support ongoing process improvements
Analyze quality management data to assist in root cause analysis, solution prioritization and business case creation.
Document policies and procedures
Work with team personnel to identify issues and develop corrective actions and process improvements.
Support training activities related to product quality and reliability.
Assist in training needs of assigned employees. Ensure that employees are trained according to their identified needs.
Support documentation of departmental procedures, policies, and practices as required.
Prepare regular & ad-hoc reports and presentations; respond to information requests.
Interact with partners to ensure the quality of all deliverables.
1+ year related residential solar design and/or engineering experience
1+ year related quality experience strongly preferred
Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or ISO 9000 principles preferred
Demonstrated success in driving programs from problem identification through to implementation
Excellent organizational and project management skills preferred
Experience presenting and reporting on plans and analyses to appropriate stakeholders
Excellent communication and customer service skills; able to work productively with cross functional groups.
Willing and able to travel as the job requires
Ability to perform normal office duties
Ability to operate office equipment including computers and determine accuracy of work
Ability to interact and participate in meetings
