  • Overview


    Senior PV System Designer
    The Senior PV System Designer completes designs for photovoltaic systems of all scopes.  In addition, Senior PVSD is responsible for establishing engineering department policy, training new team members, and leading teams of PV System Designers with the guidance of Design Managers.


    • Complete electrical and structural designs for complex residential projects;
    • Assist Manager with PV Designer interviews;
    • Coordinate with other functions in the operations department (planning, construction, warehouse, etc.);
    • Research, implement and train other engineering team members on local and national code;
    • Research and develop special projects, products, tools, etc.;
    • Assist in developing and documenting industry best practices, standards and guidelines;
    • Serve as knowledge base and training resource for other engineering team members;
    • Assist in advancing existing systems and tools for project flow and completion; 
    • Demonstrate ethics and professionalism at all times;


    • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of solar design experience required
      • OR Associate’s degree in design related field and 4 years of solar design experience required
      • OR NABCEP (PV Installation Professional) certification and 4 years of solar design experience required
    • Proficient knowledge of the National Electric Code required
    • Proficient knowledge of residential construction techniques required
    • Basic knowledge in drafting and AutoCAD Software required
    • Team leadership experience preferred
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
    • Critical thinking and ability to solve problems
    • Demonstrate good judgment and analytical skills
    • High attention to detail
    • Customer service skills with ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals
    • Excellent computing skills, including MS and Google applications, CRM and ERP systems
    • Willingness to travel as required
    Physical Demands
    • Ability to perform normal office duties
    • Ability to operate office equipment including computers and determine accuracy of work
    • Ability to interact and participate in meetings
