    The primary focus of the Talent Business Partner is to align business objectives to employees and to solve complex organizational challenges through people-related solutions. We are looking for both a coach and a business partner to help our leaders to inspire and drive the best possible performance of the team.  You are a self-directed individual, and can work within an environment of frequent change to make a significant impact to a very dynamic team.  The TBP will work side by side with our leaders and employees to answer questions and get things done in a variety of HR related areas. This requires someone comfortable operating at both a strategic and tactical level and who understands that each touch point is an opportunity to improve engagement and drive business results.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Understand every aspect of the business - partner with leadership and know the numbers.
    • Thoughtfully translate business goals to people-related outcomes and impacts.
    • Interpret an analyze talent related data to inform recommended business actions
    • Act as a project manager with our COE partners.  This includes taking ownership and driving the timeline through completion.
    • Uses benchmarking and networks to identify areas for innovation and improvement.
    • Deliver regular trainings and support with development of training materials on employee/manager related topics.
    • Must be a strong influencer and appropriately push back on employees and leaders when appropriate.
    • Articulate communicator with strong leadership presence.
    • Ability to establish high level of trust/credibility quickly and effectively.
    • Excellent organizational and self-management skills.

     

    Presentation/Delivery Experience:  The ability to prepare and deliver at Quarterly Business Reviews as well as weekly staff meetings.  Strong ability to identify and recognize trends, patterns and areas of opportunity and to present and partner effectively on solutions/movement forward.  Ability to analyze data and then to tell the story.

     

    Confidence in Coaching and Talent Awareness:  Ability to recognize leadership development opportunities and to provide recommendations.  Experienced in building, communicating, coaching for organizational advancement of individuals seeking growth.  Identifying gaps in development of employees for growth and ensuring resources are available to expand skillsets.

     

    Attitude of Ownership: Take ownership for Engagement, Management Development and the overall cycle of Talent as it relates to Check-ins, engagement survey, planning and driving improvements, Leadership Update meetings, etc.  This individual is fully considered to be part of the leadership team you support.  Willingness to partner and drive forward progress with Talent COE as needed (Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits, etc).  Active part of recruiting for manager and above.  This includes recognizing management development opportunities,

     

    Relationship Building:  Strong written and verbal communication skill set that allows for building relationships across the departments you support and at multiple levels in the organization.  Focused on building rapport with all leaders and employees in the team and viewed as a “trusted partner”.

     

    Talent Trends and Benchmarking: Is knowledgeable of competitive landscape (how our competitors are addressing talent gaps) and has solid understanding of relevant HR trends and applicable laws. Uses benchmarking and networks to identify areas for innovation and improvement.

     

    Employee Culture Creator:  Partners with the business to drive employee engagement including growth/career development opportunities, Sunrun Culture Immersion, etc.     

    Change Management: Must be comfortable with consistent change as Sunrun is in a fast paced evolving industry.

    Qualifications

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and 3+ years of Business Partner related experience.
    • Direct knowledge and experience of key HR competencies including HRIS, compensation, talent development, and workforce planning.
    • Must possess excellent computer software skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Gmail Suite.
    • Demonstrated success partnering with all levels of an employee population from support to leadership level.
    • Direct experience acting in a project manager capacity that includes designing the concept and seeing it through implementation.
    • Able to prioritize and complete a variety of simultaneous tasks with a high level of organization.
    • Excellent organizational and self-management skills.
    • Be detail-oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
    • Communicate information effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to solve business problems through an innovative approach to people.
    • Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyze information skillfully.
    • Can handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion.
    • Must be flexible with an exceptional customer centric mentality.
    • Must be able to travel on occasion approx. 10% - 15%

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Must be able to work in a normal office environment that includes sitting and standing for approximately 8 hours
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer
