The Strategic Finance & Analytics team is responsible for improving strategic and financial decision-making across Sunrun. We serve as a trusted adviser to the business to help inform and guide decision making through business partner support and insightful analyses. We are looking for bright, goal-oriented individuals who will succeed in a fast-paced environment and thrive in building and improving processes that will allow the company to scale with growth. The SF&A team believes in scaling via software (we use Anaplan), not headcount. We have built a planning system and process where every function in the organization plans together in real-time on a monthly basis, so there is less time spent exporting data & more emphasis on focusing on what matters. This leads to more opportunities for each member of the team at a company that generates >$1B in proceeds and has >180K customers that is fundamentally changing the energy landscape.
The opportunity in this role is to lead SF&A’s core planning processes along with the synthesis of the story for our CFO and COO. You will be the source of truth for corporate finance reporting and condense what several finance business partners will provide to you as their individual stories into one punchy output for our leadership, driving insight and focus towards the areas needed going forward. For those with Corporate FP&A experience but without Solar or Energy industry experience, this is the perfect entry point into the team, as you see everything from the 30,000 ft. view and learn quickly what are the most important levers in the business. Additionally, this role will keep everyone on our team on track during the monthly and quarterly planning calendar, ensuring we submit and close off items when expected, all while proactively communicating any areas of risk or opportunity.
If you enjoy collaborating and communicating with other finance folks, have an analytical mind, and also have the level of gravitas to still keep teammates on target in a collegial way, this role is for you. It will provide a broad view into a multi-faceted company that typically would require experience at multiple companies (for example, we sell through door to door, field, inside, and channel, while also installing through our crews, build partners, and the channel. Many companies have one or two go-to-market or fulfillment motions), while also providing exposure to executives typically not found at companies of this scale.
